Let the wrong keeper go IMO.
So now Bache , Thomas have gone and we can now dispose of Murphy and Snook and Atem to afford a decent striker. Eh!eh!

We nearly signed a step 3 striker but was asking for more money..... and it wasnt that much more ( don't know if it was week or month ) but one gone from the bench would of easily paid for it IMO

We do not need to break the budget, like you say. Just release the players that have not met the standards required. That is why it's called management. It was never going to be easy to find someone who, like Jardine, is a proven scorer, but I am sure there should be someone out there who would fit the bill.

There must be some doubt about Murphy too. I know he does not get much game time, but I believe he is yet to score a goal.
