Anyone else think giving Terry the penalty was the wrong decision? Not because he missed it ....
But ......
The bench told Terry to take the penalty as a confidence booster .... why ? You dont give someone a penalty whos low on confidence when your 1-0 up .... 4 or 5 nil maybe ...
As it happens he did go on and score seconds later but he even hesitated then, was going to take another touch but the defender was in on him.
Just a bonkers management decision to give it to Terry ?

No I agree with you ,yes I was by the dug out and Strertton was going to take it management were shouting for Terry to take it ,wrong decision for me but I'm not the manager
If you want to give a player confidence give it to Murphy ,give him 90 minutes because I'm sure when he scores he will carry on scoring,yes I know we do need a proven goalscorer but for now help Murphy out he holds the ball up well and wins flick ons against defenders who are taller than him.

Was I impressed with the performance overall? maybe not ... iv seen better performances this season... we struggled with the conditions first half... sending off massively helped..

Let me spell it out ..
Would you give player "A" a penalty kick when he's low on confidence when you're 1-0 up ? ..... Or would you let the player who wants to take it take it... when hes more than happy to take that responsibility.
Its not about Terry, its about the managers decision to give it Terry.

Evenly matched first half with a gusty wind ... (cant remember a shot on goal)
Second half we had the wind with us and made the best of it, sending off helped. Nice little tap in from Dec, poor penalty from Terry but made up for his persistence and got the tap in. Clean sheet went out the window with about the last kick of the game. 3 points more than welcome.

First 70 mins very even match a bit dull really looked a banker 0-0 . The pitch was poor and combined with a strong wind didn't help the players . Last twenty minutes had the lot goals , sending off , missed pen . Boro where the better team as the game progressed and just about deserved the win against a side who stated the day in the top six . Much needed win . Excellent following by boro must have been 200 amongst the 450 crowd .
The step from 5 to 4 is one of the biggest in terms of standard throughout the pyramid and i had Dec down as a player who i wasn't sure would be up to it but he seems to be improving by the game and was really good yesterday my boro motm just ahead of Shilton who has made the step up without breaking sweat so far .

Agree with a lot of this AA.
Certainly wasn't a classic, mainly due to the wind and playing surface.
However I was impressed with the way we battled. The perfect game for Dec really, and I thought that Caine Elliott put a good shift in too in the middle. You can't read much into the league positions at this point in the season, but before the game Shepshed were one of the inform sides and we were playing against them away from home which always adds an extra challenge.
I hope this can build a bit of confidence in the team and also show that they can get points on the board without someone like Armson, if that makes sense.
Fingers crossed for more of the same on Tuesday night!
