If you Google 'when was the first game at Manor Park played under floodlights' the following two websites should appear:-

Nuneaton Local and Family History, showing a photo of the floodlights being erected on the Canal Side & also an advert about Elequip Ltd., the Leicester contractor who carried out the work.

The photos were taken by Reg Bull.

Our Warwickshire, showing a brilliant photo of Peter Shilton diving across goal to his right at the Beaumont Road End but failing to stop the Boro centre-forward Billy Atkinson from scoring the Boro's first goal.

It also shows the crowd on the Canal Side.

I was at the game with my uncle.

I was 9 years old & I first started supporting my club Nuneaton Borough at the start of the 1965/66 season.

Peter Shilton was 16 years old.

Terry Bell (2) and Atkinson (according to Town to Town). I was just too young (9) to be there for a night game.
