Seems a fair assessment. We had the best ball player on the park in Eesa , yet how often was it played to feet. He showed what he is capable of when setting up the goal, and he repeated the move a few minutes later when choosing to shoot himself rather than set up Atem. Playing the ball to him above head height is folly when he is marked by a six footer.
We are a far better team when playing a passing game. Play to your strengths rather than let the opposition boss the game.

It could be that they respect the fact that we once were a top none league team. Conversely it could be that they ended a six match winning streak. It is not new, and will go on unless we manage to get back to national. If that happens then it could well be us reacting that way.

Re: Reaction to the action

Cannot get promotion above step 3 with the current set up. No 10 year lease don’t have 500 seats and ground not got a grading for step 2.
Anything above step 3 is years away as things stand.

Re: Reaction to the action

You only need 250 seats at Level 6/Step 2.
The Oval needs permanent segregation at Level 7/Step 3 & above.
The Oval is a big site/land area & can be further developed to meet the FA's requirements at Level 6/Step 2 (National League North).
Edit:
That will require a new 3G Quality PRO Performance pitch to be laid.
I'm sure the Oval site could also be even further developed to meet the FA's requirements at Level 5/Step 1 (National).
All that said, it is probably unlikely that the Oval will see the development required to meet NLN/National requiremrnts, even though the site has the potential.

We all know that the Oval is not graded beyond that.

It is imperative that we get a site in the town and build our own stadium to safeguard the future of the club. With no promotion the fans’ patience would soon be tested.

Yes. But it will be a few years before we are in that possition. Surely a holding position at step 3, would be preferable to step 4.

Id go further than that .....
We know we had the budget to sign if not 1 but 2 decent players, a striker and another ? As 3 have left.
Id say going on what we've signed the club are not actively looking for another promotion, stability in this league might be the priority.
Just my thoughts

Re: Reaction to the action
Views: 635
Other posters seem to diagree with that. Many seemed happy with what we had and openly said that being third in the table, and before yesterday , having scored over twenty goals meant we were doing fine the way we were. If this is also the view of the club officials ,and management then replacing the players that have left was not deemed necessary.
The new signing was because he had been released by Corby, so came with no strings attached, so is a squad signing, not a statement one.
You may be correct that the club see step 4 as a holding position and are not actively seeking promotion.
If that is the case they are hardly likely to admit that fact to supporters are they?

No ....
Club stance would be, were in a decent league position and we could deal with promotion if it came....
just going in events in last few weeks players have left, only 1 replaced , Marsden has left with no real explanation..... loan player sent back .....
we should be looking to strengthen not to just add a squad player.

I agree. Like I posted, I want us to be in the highest league possible when we have to be treading water for a few years. Getting a new goal scoring centre forward would certainly help with that ambition. They do not come with guarantees, however.

The ref was not great admittedly. The sending off was justified though. It is easy to blame officials when the game goes against you.
As for mondays game, injuries and suspensions are the reason why you need a squad of players to cover such things. Shit happens, live with it.

Did well second half to get an equaliser but we need a goalscorer why don't we shoot from outside the box,Stretton does and scores.
