Well done Barwell fully deserved as much as it grieves me. Boro crap ,crap, crap send that new striker back to where he came from adds nothing to our potency ,sorry he got released from there I wonder why !!!! .
We hardly carry any threat going forward and its been like that since the start of the season despite that good run of six wins. Did not enjoy watching that at all and players apart from our goalkeeper who was excellent by the way let us paying fans down tonight.

Town are either winning games or losing games so far this season in the league.
As long as they win enough games they should stay up.
Drawing games is no good.
If they start to draw games & lose games that would be a different situation & could cause problems.

Always contentious. Many a time at Manor park, the given attendance did not seem anything like what numbers were on the ground.
We played Bedworth once and the crowd was a whole lot larger than usual, yet the the given attendance was only just above what we were getting most weeks. I should think that most clubs ajust the figures to suit the cash flow at the time. With regular attendance you certainly get a feel for gauging the sort of numbers that are in attendance.

Not being funny everyone but the longer we linger in step 4 (hope not) the fans like myself will lose interest and not go which I don’t want yes maybe not good enough for a promotion yet but this is why we need a proper investment to help the club and team to progress regarding the stadium idea I don’t think the council are not interested in helping the club there only showing interest to make like they care but In all seriousness they don’t

When has "proper investment" ever harmed a football club?
who is going to put their hands in their pockets to fund the "proper investment".
I agree the council are just paying "lip service", but what exactly should they do?

The Council have time on their side, they can play a waiting game.
They are being asked to make a big Planning decision, based on what financial assurances from the football club?
None of that has been made clear to date.

I was not at the game, but from comments by others it seems that at no point in the game did we ever look like scoring. Leaving your more creative players on the bench speaks volumes.

Re: FT Barwell 1 Boro 0
Views: 105
to be clear
players who start get 100%
players who are on the bench get 50%
players not selected in squad get 0%
for example if a player on £100 a week , comes on one once during the month ...he will get paid £50
if he only starts twice during that month cycle he will get £200
if he starts saturday and benched tuesday he still only gets £100.... as they are paid weekly sat/tuesday
so if a player leaves its we are actually worse off because you are effectively paying 2 wages that week :the player that leaves £100 and the player incoming into to replace him £100
its important consideration for any management to be able to manage their budget , of which russ and darren have done an excellent job thus far in that department ... spreadsheets help .

As far as I know its only players that play. But let's go with what u say.
Going on what you say the 16 in squad get paid.

You cant have 17 in match day squad so one gets dropped.
Which one dosnt get paid ?

You cant be that dumb surely, the one not in the 16, squad of 20 -21, 16 in matchday squad, whichever way either the 16 in the squad get paid or only those that actually get on the pitch, still means those not in that weeks matchday squad or those who dont get on the pitch dont get paid that week.

Edit ...
Read it again, again and again

Look at it logically - the only players paid are those who play (I understand they get full fee if they start, half if they come on as a sub, but I may be wrong there). Squad players who don't make the pitch are not paid for that match.
Someone leaves, and their place on matchday is taken by someone else. We still have to pay 11 full fees and half for all used subs. How has that player leaving freed up money? His wage has just been paid to someone who would not have been paid if the leaver has stayed.
The difference is Justin, who I would assume was paid for his coaching role. His wage could go toward a new player if he's not replaced.

Lets say Armson was on £200 a week
Player who comes in to take his place is on £100 a week ....
That frees up money
All the players are not on the same wage

Your logic is sound. No player will want to hang around if they are only getting half pay for keeping the bench warm. It raises the question about the goalkeepers though. Goalies are only subbed when injured, so the one not playing will not get any pay whatsoever with that system.

The Club have a sum of money each week to pay out to the players that are included in the matchday squads.
It doesn't matter how many players are in the squad.
They could have 50 players in the squad & it wouldn't make any difference.
The only saving that could be made is if players on higher wages (?) leave & the Club relies on lower paid players to make up the matchday squads.
That is assuming of course that there are higher paid players at the Club?
Edit:
The difficulty that creates for Russ & Acco, is that they need to keep all of the players happy, or they will leave if they are not being paid.
That does not necessarily mean they can put out their best team every match, made worse by the fact that they cannot go out & buy a better quality centre forward, because it could upset the wages applecart!

Correct. When you have a limited budget, with no wriggle room ,then every penny of that budget should be spent wisely. Signing someone just because they suddenly become available is not spending money wisely, unless that player has a proven track record and, crucially ,is better than what you currently have. Having only seen our new forward for the twenty odd minutes on saturday I was not at all convinced that he brought anything new to the side at all.

Building a new Stadium in Nuneaton is going to be years away.
The supporters have to consider that it may never happen at all?
That's why there needs to be a sensible back-up plan.
The Oval may need to be re-developed & possibly a switch of venue to Hinckley Leicester Road should not be ruled out.
Just my thoughts!
Edit:
The Off-field stuff cannot hold up progress with the On-field stuff.
The Off-field stuff also needs to progress 'just-in-time'.

If we are struggling to achieve the sort of numbers that Lee is proposing at Bedwotth, then a move over to Leicestershire will definitely not get anything like those numbers. If we cannot get back to Nuneaton, then any long term future for the club will be a serious doubt.

Not necessarily.
A move to Hinckley Leicester Road would only be necessary if the Club is at Level 7/Step 3 (SLPC) & is preparing for promotion to the National League North & the Oval is unsuitable/cannot be re-developed?
That situation could happen very quickly.

Chicken or egg
Promotion or ground ....
If its ground be prepared to accept the type of players we're signing at the minute cos we're stopping at this level untill its built
If its Promotion then we need somwhere else or the oval needs upgrading

As I have said a number of times previously, the Oval is a big site/land area & could be re-developed.
However, Hinckley Leicester Road has all of the facilities Town could ever dream of, except it's in Hinckley!
That said, it will probably need a new grass pitch to be laid.
As an aside, when I attended my last ever Nuneaton Borough 'home' match after the LW eviction, at HLR, against Bromsgrove Sporting, I noticed Stuarts pitch perimeter advertising boards, so SE clearly has a connection there, as well as having a Showroom in Hinckley.
Also, Town were due to play a pre-season friendly at the Stadium against Brackley Town, before that idea was abandoned due to an unsatifactory pitch.
Clearly, I would suggest there are options?

The Nuns do not own the stadium. The owners do not want anything to do with the football club. May not seem like good business by the owners, but they seem to be wealthy enough not to be concerned about that.

Realistically, the only Stadium improvements I foresee being made at the Oval, will be those required by an FA ground-grading inspection for Level 7/Step 3 football.
I suspect work will be required to improve the facilities to provide satisfactory permanent segregation.
Beyond that, I cannot see the Oval ever being suitable for Level 6/Step 2 & above.
I say that because the Oval is the permanent home of Bedworth United FC & they are a well run genuine Community Club & they do not need anymore than they already have at present.
To upgrade the Oval would mean replacing the existing 3G pitch with a higher specification pitch & I think it's fair to say that is not going to happen.

No, you give them a few games to see if they fit in . Murphy, in fairness, was given little game time to settle in. He had a better scoring record than the new guy over the last two seasons, by all accounts. But only being used as an occasional sub gave him little time to shine.

I don’t look forward to us being at the bottom of Nationwide North, selling nearly all the tickets in the ground to away fans, getting relegated, failing to pay the rent and the club folding. This is our level until we have a ground.

The danger with showing no ambition to progress is that the attendances fall away & the playing budget is reduced (Lee's comment), which then brings the spectre of relegation very much into focus, in a league where there is very little difference between most of teams.
That will place the Club back in the County Leagues circuit.

The Club have to be very careful.
The Planning Application will be for a new 4,000 capacity Stadium, built in Phases as the Town progress upwards through the Pyramid.
The Council/WCC are currently considering 6 sites with that proposal in mind.
If the financial reality falls somewhat short of that ideal, that could cause problems.

Two problems with that one. First, the current owner apparently has pots of money and is showing no inclination to sell. Also, he seems to detest Boro and football in general. Second, the council does not have massive cash reserves - so why would they see funding a ground for Boro as a priority?

The excitement from supporting NTFC is gained by watching the team play & constantly looking for improvement & progression on & off the field.
If you sideline the playing side by watering down the ambition then the supporters will become disenchanted & disappointed.
It's a difficult one for the Board.
If they take the foot off the gas by over-prioritising the new Stadium then they could create themselves a financial problem, if disillusioned supporters stay away from games.
Cutting to the bottom line, the Club will always find somewhere suitable to play/find a way, that is what will happen but they cannot/must not show a lack of ambition on the playing side.
Just my thoughts!
