Bedfont Sports can learn a lot from what went on at Staines and if they can get their management team to take a pro active role with the Academy then they can succeed where Staines failed. Their aim should be to get the best players into the first team on contracts and should a pro club come in for them then a fee will be required.

It’s fair to say the academy was wasted at Staines as every single decent player slipped through the net with no benefit to the club whatsoever, 16 years wasted. Lessons well and truly learnt with Bedfont now having the chance to success where Staines didn’t.
