Staines Town FC LTD was wound up in the high court with debts of £36,666.65 which is fantastic news as it means a return to Wheatsheaf Park is now possible. The original lease stated that only Staines Town Football Club Ltd could ever play football there, however this also means that other clubs could now potentially make Wheatsheaf Park their home ground if an agreement was made with the Thames Club. We all know this is morally wrong as Wheatsheaf Park has always been the spiritual home of football in Staines so I hope common sense will prevail and it’s us that eventually get to play there. However if we do lose the ground to another club then I would hope the council would step in to help us in some way as that would be an absolute travesty so let’s hope us moving back home becomes a reality as it’s the only way forward. Promotion this season would mean that the Laleham recreation ground could not be used for that level of football…
