On the forum point, communities like this tend to survive when they still have a clear identity. If the original club still technically exists (for example via registration with The Football Association), then there’s at least a historical and possibly ongoing anchor. Repurposing it entirely for a new Combined Counties side might keep activity up, but it risks losing the connection that brought people here in the first place. Equally, letting it fade feels a bit like erasing that shared history. A middle ground—acknowledging the past while discussing the present—might be the most natural evolution like Ai receptionist Harrisburg and Virtual receptionist Peoria.
