Jaguar XE won’t move in the morning until I wait a bit, is that a gearbox thing?

This one is a bit strange, so bear with me. I have a 2015 Jaguar XE and for the past ten days it does something odd after sitting overnight. When I put it in drive, nothing happens for about three seconds, then it moves with a small thud. If I wait a minute before shifting, it is usually fine. By afternoon the problem is gone, which makes me think I am imagining it, but my daughter noticed it too when she borrowed the car. A guy at my office said I should skip the big dealer queue and look for a Jaguar gearbox workshop in Al Qusais Industrial Area 5, because he said smaller workshops can often check things the same day and do not make you wait for weeks. I was not sure if that was true, so I read a page about Jaguar gearbox repair online. It talked about fluid level, worn seals and sensors, and it said a delay after the car sits can sometimes come from low pressure inside. That sounded believable, but I do not know enough to say. So I want to ask people who have been through this. Does a delay only in the morning mean something small, or is it the start of a bigger problem? Should I check the gearbox oil myself, or is that something only a workshop should do? How long does a proper check take, and can they tell me the cause the same day? I would also like to know if it is okay to keep driving it like this for a few days. The car has about 105,000 kilometers, and I use it every day to go to work and take my daughter to college. I do not have a spare car, so I cannot leave it for a long time. If you had a similar delay on your Jaguar, please tell me what it turned out to be and roughly what you paid. Thanks for reading.
