Is ceramic coating actually worth it for a daily driver in Abu Dhabi?

My car lives outside all year and the paint has gone from glossy to slightly chalky, especially on the roof and bonnet. I've been going back and forth on whether to get a ceramic coating or just stick with a regular wax every few months. Does ceramic coating genuinely protect against the sun here or does it fade after a summer? I'm not looking for a show car finish, just something that stops the paint getting worse.
