My grandmother turned

My grandmother turned ninety and requested, as her birthday activity, to "see what all the fuss is about" regarding casinos. She'd never set foot in one. The family chauffeured her to an outing organized with details from the Casino Gatineau information someone in the family had researched. She settled at a penny slot with a ten dollar budget and the focus of a chess grandmaster. Ninety minutes later she'd turned it into thirty-five dollars and declared the fuss "reasonable but overstated." The staff adored her. My uncle tried to explain payouts and she shushed him. On the drive home she said it was nice to finally understand what her sister had been talking about for thirty years. Ninety years old and still collecting new experiences. The family benchmark has been set impossibly high.
