People always say they can remember where they were and what they were doing when historic events took place .

Well at approximately 4:15 pm yesterday afternoon in a small town in Hampshire another piece of Staines Town history was written .

ASHLEY LODGE SCORED A GOAL

And to be fair to the lad he didn't milk it , he took the applause and got on with the game .

So two away wins in a week. who would have thought that after last Saturdays performance full marks to the players and staff for there reaction to the Gosport result.

For the record Staines performance yesterday was in my humble opinion there best on the road this season, im lead to believe from a club source ( dave Brown ) that was our 1st win at Havant, so all in all a great day .

A quick run down of the game ,
Staines were stronger in all areas of the pitch they looked defensively sound and Havant were reduced to a few shots from distance not much else.

Louie T rounded off a solid game with a well taken goal before being withdrawn.

Lodgey's goal but the game beyond Havant and Staines looked comfortable for the last 1/2 hour .

Nice ground good facilities and food .

Just a footnote though and im all for clubs encouraging kids into football grounds but .. in the 2nd Half behind the goal where we were standing we were surrounded by children who were taking no interest in the football match what so ever .. maybe they would have rather been at the seaside .

Fantastic Match + performance all round

well chuffed for Lodgey

AND DONT FORGET

''ITS ALL SWINGS AND ROUNDABOUTS''

Good summary.
Staines were certainly too strong for Havant.
It was nice to see Lodgey score a thoroughly deserved and well taken goal.
Back in the Top 10. Roll on Eastleigh and Bromley at home
