Dartford reprieved/Salisbury relegated
Views: 2501
So the fallout continues.
First its Hereford being expelled meaning we get Hayes + Yeading back and lose Lowestoft to the North.
Now Salisbury replace Dartford as the relegated team to the South.
Will it ever end?
Of course what this now means is that if Salisbury don't deposit a £50k bond by 4th July Tonbridge Angels will get a repreive.

Dorchester are desperately holding on for their reprieve .. The whole close season has seemed a farce so far for the Conference.

no more of a farce than some previous close seasons--- problem seems to be that certain clubs seem to end the season financially up shit creek, and then find they can't sort it our before the deadlines set by the league.
look into things deeper and you will find there are about 6 leagues with similar situations going on.

The Conference have just confirmed that should Salisbury fail to meet their bond and other financial conditions by 4th July, they will be expelled and Conference South will be a 21 team league with no further reprieves for anyone.

Yes Dave..... But do you remember Truro had about three deadlines extended, money had to be in by midday on the Monday, and the local curry house and mini cab shop came up with the dough about 10 days later, and the league let them stay in. It's a joke!

Seems very wrong to me that a club, , penalised only four years ago for similar financial behaviour, can already be back in a simmialr position so quickly.Makes a farce of the way the clubs have been monitored and the confusion it brings to the promotion/demotion situation which could be affecting well managed clubs who have lived within there means and have not been tempted to buy their way out of relegation etc .Reducing the number of clubs for the next seasson to cover the problem is I feel a cop out by the league management and is simply an easy way out for them..
Best wishes
