Angels away...

Firstly just take a minute to soak up this fact ..
Staines haven't won a Saturday game since December 5th
Now onto tokays game .. It's clear that Hippolyte has good contacts bringing in new players after 3 days as manager, add to that having the balls to start them today.
All the neway players looked comfortable and hit the (muddy) ground running.
First half was tight..Jack Turner made 3 or 4 top class saves and we looked comfortable in everything we were doing.
Bearing in mind all the changes and where we are in the league today's game was a free hit . We need to worry more about beating the teams around us .
So the 2nd half was a bit tougher . Tonbridge came out stronger and our task became tougher when Bennett was sent off for deliberate hand ball . Turner saving the following penalty.
Strangely the opening goal came from what has turned out to be our weakness this season a corner .. however this time it was a staines corner, poorly played into the near post. They broke away and scored.
We had done well holding on in a scrappy game and once they scored the 2nd it was game over .
Boyakes sending off was pure stupidity by the player .. running 20 yards to push a player was unacceptable and the red card was fully deserved.
Massive game on Tuesday. .
And don't forget
"IT'S ALL SWINGS AND ROUNDABOUTS "

Some well chosen words there Andrew. I felt we were really strong in the first half and looked good straight from the kick off but unfortunately didn't turn up in the second half. No energy, even before the sending off, whereas Angels could still keep running and playing long balls to the wingers. Clifton was great in the first half but tired later ...
Need a full 90 minutes tomorrow!
