Whats gone wrong?

At the beginning of the season we were playing some attractive football, we used the full width of the pitch and passed to our own players. We fielded committed players who deserved to be on the park, they not only created chances but took them. Now sadly after watching another dismal display on Tuesday at Hendon I am of the opinion we are picking a team on not what you can do but who you know. I fail to understand why good players are left on the bench and players who are clearly not performing are picked to start the game. I don't want to name players but other supporters are saying the same as me. It is wrong that we have the makings of a good team but don't capitalise on them, I see good players losing heart because of what is happening around them. Am I so wrong?
