New Strip
Views: 1140
Interested in supporters' opinion on the new strip.
Not keen myself as it's not the traditional old gold and blue. Looks more like
a Slough Town strip. I like the fact that the Club has always stuck with the original
colours, certainly since the early 70's when I started watching, so I for one am a bit
disappointed to see the change.

From what I understand we are tied to Macron and the new strip (Macron Wezen) is described as Yellow / Navy (almost black IMO) and is therefore the same as Slough, although obviously, sponsor’s Logos / badges etc add some differentiation. The past two years we had the Macron Strength strip but the yellow / Royal blue option is currently somewhat limited, hence I guess the selection of the current strip. And for sure, the combination of unfamiliar players in an unfamiliar strip is a little disconcerting - there being numerous familiar faces on show in Kingstonian colours!

Thanks for the explanation GJ. The Wezen strip is actually described as yellow/black I see. I note however that there are a number of alternative strips in the Macron range which can be supplied in yellow and royal blue. notably the Mendoza or Perseus. Hopefully this is a change that will only last for one season - it should always be yellow and blue for me.

Only seen it listed as Yellow / Navy on the various UK Macron shop sites and maybe they do both....or they can’t tell the difference! And on close up, to me the Swan’s strip is an ultra dark navy. And i agree with you about royal blue - also noting that the new badge is an even lighter shade of blue. But in the end, it’s what happens on the pitch that really counts :-)
