2019/2020 Season
Views: 1296
Now that we know which league we are in for the new season hopefully there will be some positive announcement at STFC introducing the new management team and squad .
Some good local games and again we will be renewing battles with Ashford Town just down the road. Interesting that there manager of 6 years is now moving on and that they have appointed from within the club -Russell Canderton who has been a very loyal servant at the club for many years.

Good point Pat, seems strange that those that do the most complaining are the last to come forward to put their money where their mouth is, and to think some helpers had a 3 hour trip from devon. Still it just shows who the true supporters are.

Norm, you remind me of a child on a car journey, are we there yet, i need to go to the toilet, are we there yet, i have lost count of how many times you have been told there is no info whilst the court case is pending. You are not dolng the club any favours with your insistance for answers that can not be given until the court case is over, so dont you think its time you stepped back and waited without trying to stir up trouble.

Until the court case is resolved, can’t see any new players coming to Staines- will probably start the season with kids again.

The sooner this court case is done and dusted, the sooner the club can begin to plan properly and move forward. Everything appears to be in limbo at the moment and unless we suddenly get a date in the next few weeks then you may be right in that we start the new season again with kids. Let’s hope we get some good news in the coming weeks! COYS!

We have the Under 16's ...... And who has said that the results of any court case will all be to the benefit/detriment of the club?

Good points -it does not make sense for everything on and off the pitch to be frozen until the legal matters are brought to a conclusion.
So much can be done now to lay the foundations for the new season-our promoted neighbours Chertsey have just held trials for 2019/20.
Sadly pitch not been cut since end of season -wondering if sheep are about to be put out to graze. It does not bode well for the future.

It’s all very well making plans for the new season however there is the small problem of recruiting prospective players and management after what went on last season. With all the uncertainty surrounding the club, and not knowing what the hell is going on, who in their right mind would actually want to join the club in this moment of time? The court case absolutely needs to be concluded ASAP so as everyone knows where they stand. I feel only then will we be able to move forward! As it stands the whole club is in limbo. The hearing cannot come around quick enough! COYS!!!

I really do understand where you are coming from -however, the timetable for the legal case is out of the control of anyone at STFC or even the Thames Club. Also of course summertime always slows down the courts due to the holiday season being in full swing.
The result may not be known for many many months. If we do not have a team / ground etc etc etc to start the new season, what action/penalties could the club expect from the league. Could only be bad news.
The worst possible scenario is to start the new season in the manner in which we finished 2018/19 Important to get off to a flyer.

The situation could not be more serious at this stage of the close season. With absolutely no information coming out, no details of trial dates and with other clubs now announcing pre season fixtures you cannot help but be concerned.
Can we have an action plan so we can change the mood?

I'm struggling to see what the court case has to do with next season? What happens if the case isn't heard in the next couple of months? Club should still be planning whatever is happening behind the scenes. In fact, given the circumstances it's probably the most crucial season ever to have a plan in place......thy could at least share what the options are given the 2 scenarios of the result of the court case - this isn't compromising anything.

It’s quite simple really.
Lose = no club, so no point planning
Win = start trying to build again from wherever we find ourselves. No point spending any money, time or effort in, until you know if going to exist.
I’m sure the supporters club are going to put a working party together to tidy up the pitch and ground. Maybe you can contact them and volunteer you time and or money? They will no doubt be very grateful for all the help they can get. It will be interesting to see how many supporters actually turn up or find excuses to be busy ‘that’ weekend but are more than happy to offer vocal advice.
