What I should have said is that apart from a home friendly on Tuesday, what comes next for non-league football. We are told that the Premier League and the EFL can go ahead. They will get the TV audience to help the clubs to continue, although I still feel that some EFL teams and some of the smaller Premiership teams will not be able to survive on Pay Per View. However, lower down the pyramid, teams like ours are reliant on crowds or very rich Directors for their survival. Will the league postpone fixtures until early December and see how the lockdown has worked? Possibly we may, sadly, have to endure the lockdown until the spring. I think the problem is that the younger generation of school children and those of a student age get the virus and are able to survive the effects. It is old codgers (like me) who get the virus passed on and have lots of medical issues to try and clear ourselves of the virus. Seemingly in the circumstances of a prolonged lockdown, what should the league do about promotion and relegation issues. We were saved the ordeal last season being in the relegation positions, should we take the same view now we are joint top and suggest the results are expunged? I don't know the answers. All I hope is that the videos come back and Joe can continue his negotiations with the Tames Club successfully. The Thames Club must be struggling having to face another lockdown with no income. What is the future - all I can safely say is that I did have my 'flu jab - and there's an American election to think about this week! Hey ho, its to enjoy retirement I go - I think.
