This might cheer a few of you Swans up...
Nine years ago today, Staines Town won the Middlesex Senior Cup for the 10th (and final, to date) time by winning a Spelthorne Derby with my beloved Ashford Town (Middlesex) by 2-0.
'twas an evening Easter Monday kick-off, with yours truly on the tannoy (I was working for the Middlesex FA at the time). I'd also prepared the programme. Although the result wasn't the one I'd hoped for, I do remember it being a great night. There were over 500 people at Uxbridge, despite it being freezing cold with the U12 teams from the clubs' respective Junior sections having a penalty competition (the Ash Trees won that). The atmosphere was excellent, with both sets of fans enjoying themselves. It was Ashford's first-ever Senior Cup Final and Steve Parsons and I worked hard to get the programme right and to persuade the blazerati not to charge £5 for kids.
At this time of turmoil for STFC, have a think about that night if you were there, or your own happy memories if you weren't. And keep the faith!

Remember it well Gareth.
Its good to look back on those games and reflect at how enjoyable it was to be a STFC supporter .
Great respect to those working behind the scenes at this current time in an effort to rescue the club from the dire situation created by owner.Lets hope Gareth that we can get back to a another Middlesex Cup final in near future.
