Combined Counties AGM

Apparently Staines Town Fc were not represented at the Combined Counties AGM so it looks like they will not be competing in the league next season.
FA apparently going to make a decision regarding this in the next couple of days.

Thats a big surprise John.

I am sure that Dixon stated in a recent statement that the club will be continuing to play.

Not like him not to keep his word especially after all the money he has invested. Must be a silly mix up .

Did our new owner Antonio Silva not fly in from the British Virgin Islands especially for the AGM then?

So it looks likely that, unless something really surprising happens, Staines Town will be ejected from the Combined Counties this week and replaced by Division 1 side Hilltop. And thus a club formed in 1890 disappears from view with barely a ripple.

I've seen many an enjoyable game at Wheatsheaf Lane/Park over the years but that's now all disappeared into the ether. I can only usually attend evening games so my trips to Staines Lammas will be limited, unless they return to WP at some point in the future. Good luck to all for the future.

I presume that once Staines Town are formally declared extinct on the footballing front, this forum will shut down. No club, no Massive.

I don't thing that STFC will "formally declared extinct" as there is no-one to do this. The club's membership of Middlesex FA and Combined Counties will lapse as there is no-one they can contact to get things sorted.
The club now only exists as a name, website and Wikipedia page; unless someone knows of a squad and manager sitting around twiddling their thumbs in some dark, hidden corner?

The only(?) way forward is likely to be to form a new club STFC (2022) ano start again.
But that would need several people to get things started.
If there was a "STFC committee" it might be possible to merge with a lower level club to take up a position as some sort of phoenix club, but unless I'm very much mistaken STFC has nothing, and no-one that can negotiate with the FA, etc.

I think that what we have here is a "dead parrot"

Staines Town FC is a limited company and will continue to exist unless they are 'wound up'.
Only then can a Phoenix Club or new Staines Town Football Club be set up.
