Where are they now?

Yesterday I took advantage of being in the North West to go to Salford City v Braintree Town - top v bottom in the National League. Bargain £10 entrance (that is their usual). Anyway, lining up for the visitors was Mo Bettamer. He's done well to rise 2 levels since the mass exodus last May.

He scored both Braintree goals in a coupon busting 2-2 draw. The first was a penalty and the second was a fine finish to a smart counter attack.

Seeing the result from Wheatsheaf Park on the way home just makes you wonder all the more about where the Swans will end up.

Feeling for the fans now! Any News/Rumours on a new manager yet as the sooner someone gets a grip on the situation the better.

Hopefully a new manager will be appointed this week - someone who has contacts and experience at this level.
Maybe then , we can sort out the defence and goalkeeping situation.
By the number of goals conceded, many by schoolboy defending and goalkeeping errors , this aspect of the team is clearly not good enough.
Since we have been without a permanent manager , we have shipped 28 goals in 5 games - probably 20 of these could have been avoided if we had a decent defence/goalkeeper.
I hope things improve for the better under a new manager , sooner rather than later.

Do you think there is money available to appoint an experienced manager with the contacts needed to turn things around?

I've got the impression that the new consortium had a cheaper model whereby they appointed an inexperienced manager who seemed to rely on younger and presumably cheaper players the result of which has been clear for all to see. It seems long gone are the days of signing players that were around even last season. Although there is plenty of time, it's going to be a tough job for whoever comes in to turn things around.

Hopefully the new manager (whoever they are) will have a sensible budget from which to build a team capable of holding their own and crawling itself out of the situation it is in at the moment.
Personally i would keep some of this team , but would definitely dispense with some - who don't seem to up to this level.
Good luck to the new manager

There are 2 or 3 players in this team definitely worth keeping hold of and going forward we actually look half decent at times, it’s just the defence and goalkeeping crisis that is causing us the most problems as witnessed by the loss of Manny in goal. In fact I do not recall our current goalkeeper even making a single solitary, noteworthy save as every shot on target by the opposition goes in! Manny was making saves that he had no right to even get near and the gap in class is gapingly obvious. When you concede 4,5,6,7 goals a game as we have been since, you kind of sense how important a decent keeper becomes.

The new manager will have to replace three quarters of the team if we are to avoid relegation this season, I hope we get the right man in...

The intentions of the new ownership will be pretty clear I think when the new Manager is announced. Nobody with any experience at this level will take on the job unless there is the promise of an increased budget to get in the players needed. So if Micky Mouse is appointed this week then we can all fear for the worse I'm afraid.
Certainly I had the feeling with Christian that he was only a couple of experienced defenders away from getting things right. We were playing decent football and getting a few goals, so I wonder if he walked because he was told that no more funds were available to strengthen where it was needed. All will be revealed this week I guess as to the Club's intentions. Come on You Swans!
