A thoroughly entertaining match at Church Road which saw our Academy boys up against Kingstonian's Academy.

Leafe really should have won this match without breaking sweat but in typical Leafe style squandered chance after chance let in K's with some clumsy defending and with the visitors nicking a goal deep into injury time the match ended 2-2.

With our first choice keeper sidelined through (non football related) injury our stand in was a 5 foot 4 striker who had played a good game. But he looked very small in the goal as K's succession of giants stepped up to blast their penalties.

In the end we missed three of our first four penalties while Kingstonian's penalties were faultless. One couldn't help thinking their wild celebrations were slightly disproportionate to the League 1st Round win but they probably also recognised that had contrived to beat a team of far superior quality. Such is life...
