First things first, plenty of that patch was on the pitch and it was indicative of how sodden the whole field was.

Warming up at the other end even your players were laughing that the ball was landing like a Geoff Capes shotput.

Why would Leafe want the game called off? Full strength team, not afforded midweek as a rule, and a crucial game. No, it was because the pitch was dangerous and any game played just a lottery.

You had that spineless geek of a Ref bullied by 10AM in the morning - no doubt with the same demeanour we had to endure from the moment we arrived.

His ludicrous performance and card flittering in a game where your Physio didn't get out of the seat was no doubt for challenging his "authority", as if he had any.

The result saved his bacon and I thought we were remarkably restrained given the utter nonsense we had to endure and witness.

Next time have the balls to admit the pitch is not up to it. With a club house where the Gents smell better than the bar no doubt the £££ is foremost in the mind but that was a disgrace yesterday.
