The quality of the games at home this season has been far better than prior years in general. Through no fault of our groundsmen, our pitch was very dry and bumpy so the new surface has been a big improvement.
Some fans say our pitch is not as good as Maidstones. I can't comment on that as I haven't been there.Yes it can slow the ball a bit at times but overall it is a fantastic improvement.Mind you go and watch a game at Whitstable and the ball bounces like a medicine ball. I know which pitch I would rather watch a game.
Commercially,as has been said,,it sounds a great success.
You comments about being able to train etc on the same pitch are true. However, it doesn't mean that your home form would improve- we've only won 4 league games at home( and 9 away!)
I think it unsurprisingly has been difficult to convert the grass prurists but I don't know anyone who hasn't enjoyed the games on our new pitch.
