Having been involved since the first sod was ripped up, I can only say its been a great success. A bit like Bruce said, if you had asked me a few years ago I would of been wary about going down the 3G route. However since has been installed plus associated fencing and terracing the ground has been transformed.

Whilst there is no "close season" maintenance, ongoing maintenance is vital. The pitch is a FIFA 2 star rated surface (the highest you can get). A weekly log has to be maintained (as we are checked every year) re what work has been carried out ie. light brush, deep brush, cleaning plus checking the ball roll via a stimp metre the same sort of thing they use at golf courses to check the speed.

I am not aware of the income generated however the pitch is used 7 days a week and other local clubs have booked the facility. Saturday mornings we have close to a 100 youngster playing games and a very successful soccer school.

Have had nothing other than positive feedback from visiting players & supporters.

Only way to go for non league clubs if they can afford it. Maybe the F A should look at a way of making loans not grants available to clubs.
