always bloody cold at Banstead!!
Seriously, i would consider it for Sutton.
Dont be fooled, its very expensive, getting on for £500k. But a lot of the cost is not the pitch itself but the drainage, fencing etc.
The pitch would need to replaced in 10 years, depending on hours of use, but it would be less than half as much again. So work on a twenty year plan with a cost of £750k.
Thats about £37,500 a year to break even spread over hire and bar revenue. And its all year round dont forget. So thats £3125 a month. You can mark it out for 9 a side across the pitch for junior teams etc.
And like you say you can save ££s on your res training straight away.I believe the equipment to maintain the pitch ie brushes etc was also included, but Paulo would have to confirm that, so no more massive machine service cost etc, seed and top soil!!
Its a big commitment but one I believe more clubs will take to in the future.I am sure that if you wanted to come down and have a look we would be happy to show you around.
Cheers.
