I would have to agree with you although, the conditions did make for farcical and at times comical "football".

In my opinion it would have been better for all concerned it the match had been deferred to Wednesday or Thursday evening by which time the pitch would have dried out significantly (if the forecasts are to be believed); there would have been more real football played ~ rather people flailing around in the mud ~ and Billericay's pitch would not have been completely and unutterably destroyed.

It was entertaining but not necessarily for the right reasons.
