Leafe v Folkestone Invicta

By Lee Farmie (legacy user)19/8/2014 09:23Tue Aug 19 09:23:53 2014

Invicta manager Neil Cugley has publicly said he doesn't like plastic pitches. Let's hope by the end of tonight he detests them.

It's going to be a very hard game tonight and a really good test to see where we are. Hopefully we won't begin to run out of steam as we seemed to against Ramsgate and we can maintain our 100% record against English sides this season.

JT should be back in the side and hopefully we might see Roscoe too. No other team news as far as I'm aware...

Again, a solid performance tonight. Although I thought that Folkstone were the slightly stronger team. We had the two clear cut chances in the first half though. We must make the most of these if we are to compete at the top end of the table.

Thought their goalkeeper came in for some uncalled comments (in public) from one of their management team as they walked off calling him a "Brick" presume this was something to do with J Ts free kick.

All in all a fair result against one of the stronger teams in the league.

You kind of expect that reaction from a comedy manager like the current Merstham one but not Neil Cugley. Right in front of the home fans. Out of order frankly.

Interesting comment by linesman which gives the impression that only the Merstham manager uses profanities. The fact is that all managers in the Ryman South are low life and non of whom appear to be able to put a sentence together without using the F woed.

Football watcher, I think you ought to be a bit more careful of the sweeping statement that you have made about Ryman South Managers.

is not in the use of profanity, but the fact that the goalkeeper was berated for trying to play ball rather than 'hoof' it. Its still comedy if the sentence was 'Tell him he's a goalkeeper and not a footballer. I'm guessing maybe you're not a 'football watcher'

Linesman needs to get his guesser into gear. I watch two or three football matches every week at all levels. I stand what I say about managers in the Ryman South and that they are not particuarly literate. In addition you know very well what that manager meant and that was for the keeper to clear tha ball and not fanny around with it in the area.

Leafe 1 Folkestone 1

That's a very good result against surely one of the pre-season promotion favourites and really pleasing to come back from a goal down - one of our biggest failings in the latter Ryman campaigns.

I am back for Sittingbourne on Saturday, with one of the best metal stand amplifiers at our disposal. Be sure to use it.

Thought it was an excellent point for us against the best team I've seen at Church road for a league game in ages. Team worked really hard and the back 4 all had solid games to keep us in it.

Find it hard to believe their manager was criticising the keeper for JT's free kick, nestled in the bottom corner not sure many keepers would have got to it.

Thought Folkestone were very strong and will surely be up there yet again this season
