Carshalton 1 Leafe 1(Leafe win 4-2 on pens)

By Clive (legacy user)7/10/2014 22:51Tue Oct 7 22:51:27 2014

A game of 2 halves and 9 pens.

Not a lot to report really. Jason Henri debut goal volleyed in from 6 inches. Fine equalizer 15 mins from end.
Amazing scramble in last few mins as Sam hit post and Shaun had back heel cleared off line.
Fine pens from Greg,Shaun,Tom Pratt and Jensen with Bentley rattling the post. 2 marvellous saves from Shakey.

It's quite difficult following pens when there is no scoreboard to remind you of the score.

Onward we march in the Robert Dyas cup to Wembley

Great result and sorry I wasn't there to witness the drama.

A special mention to Tom Pratt, so often keeping the bench warm. Stepped up took a penalty and scored.

Cracking pen it was too, nice work Tom. They were all good - even Bentley's was six inches from being the perfect pen.
Look forward to the draw.

Whyteleafe will entertain Leatherhead in the next round of the Robert Dyas Cup. The match will be played at Church Road on some date before the end of November.

not impossible. Leatherhead always provide decent teams (lousy fans) but we always up our game playing higher oppo and i'm sure Greg Andrews will want to score a few crackers against his old club. Hopefully the tanners will bring a few and we can have a cracking cup tie like the old days.

nothing is impossible, mate.

When the world, leaves you feeling blue
You can count on me, I will be there for you
When it seems, all your hopes and dreams
Are a million miles away, I will re-assure you

We've got to all stick together
Good friends, there for each other
Never ever forget that
I've got you and you've got me, so

Reach for the stars
Climb every mountain higher
Reach for the stars
Follow your hearts desire
Reach for the stars
And when that rainbow's shining over you
That's when your dreams will all come true

There's a place waiting just for you
Is a special place where your dreams all come true
Fly away, swim the ocean blue
Drive that open road, leave the past behind you
Don't stop gotta keep moving
Your hopes have gotta keep building
Never ever forget that
I've got you and you've got me, so

Reach for the stars
Climb every mountain higher
Reach for the stars
Follow your hearts desire
Reach for the stars
And when that rainbow's shining over you
That's when your dreams will all come true

Don't believe in all that you've been told
The sky's the limit you can reach your goal
No-one knows just what the future holds
There ain't nothing you can't be
There's a whole world at your feet
I said reach

Climb every mountain (reach)
Reach for the moon (reach)
Follow that rainbow
And your dreams will all come true

Reach for the stars
Climb every mountain higher
Reach for the stars
Follow your hearts desire
Reach for the stars
And when that rainbow's shining over you
That's when your dreams will all come true
Reach for the stars
Climb every mountain higher
Reach for the stars
Follow your hearts desire
Reach for the stars
And when that rainbow's shining over you
That's when your dreams will all come true
Reach for the stars
Climb every mountain higher [fade to finish]

I like Robert Dyas. It's a bloke shop.

You go in to buy a very large pack of AAA Batteries and come out with said batteries, an extension lead, a screwdriver set, weedkiller, a tin opener, 100 blank CDs, a frying pan and a rubber torch. Fatal to browse.

Leatherhead at home is an exciting draw and renews a friendlyish rivalry that goes back decades. Bring it on.

As long as they don't bring the young thugs who are most prob about 25 now, that attacked my car whilst leaving their ground a few years ago with my two youngest sons in the car. Not nice!
