Leafe 3 Dunstable Town 1

An excellent performance by the 'Leafe although we thought we were in for a tough afternoon with Dunstable scoring after just 2 mins and looked pretty good for the following 15 mins. However the game changed when they were awarded a very iffy pen which Ceesay pushed onto the bar and clear, justice done IMHO. Greg got us back into the game to make 1-1 and from then on it was all us.

Smithy scored a cracker after the break and from then on it seems that Dunstable seemed to lose all shape and were overrun on many occasions by D'sane, Andrews and Graham. It was D'sane who scored the third with some neat passing. We controlled the game from then on.

I wonder what the Dunstable Town scout (who was at the Redhill game) now thinks after he said "nothing here to bother us"

Still no Hollingsworth, Grant and Merchant for 60 mins.

Bring on the next round and please be kind and give us a non Ryman club.

A couple of upsets. Cray beating Faversham 3-0 and Kingstonian going down 3-1 away to Barkinside.

I realise my error, Greg scored before they were given the pen!

It was a terrific performance this afternoon and a worthy victory.

So many of our team were at the top of their game, the influence of Roscoe immediately obvious, however I would single out Shekh Ceesay, continuing his outstanding form between the sticks and Ryan Fowler who had his best game of the season.

Money in the kitty and the chance of a big tie in the draw for the next round.

Sheikh was amazing today, it was thanks to him that we were still in touch by the time we found our stride. Agree with PBFC about Ryan too, comfortably his best game of the season. And delighted for Tommy bagging the crucial second goal, just a few days on from a pretty torrid night at Merstham.
Well done to all the lads, they did us proud today.

Can only agree with all that has been said. Dunstable are a top half Southern Premier side so we played some excellent football and thoroughly deserved our victory. Sheikh continues to impress and is on superb form. The penalty save was both crucial and brilliant. Tommy was not due to start but got his chance to put Tuesday behind him when Dylan was late due to traffic. Ryan, Roscoe, Greg and Bentley combined well to worry their defence all afternoon, in fact the whole team performed well. Looking forward to the draw.

A very entertaining report on yesterday's match by Dunstable's matchday secretary Paul Harris:

What a brilliantly written tome!

It befits their club, very friendly and humble by full time. Such a contrast to the midweek aggression that met us at Merstham.

It was indeed "a first minute goal bar a few seconds" being 1.02 hence the Golden Goal winner 2 minutes. I had ticket 3 :(

A great afternoon and this report reflects events perfectly.

As regards their keeper, quite a few of my family (by marriage) came to watch the said Luke Chambers - sit in the dugout as it turned out. Teflon Toblerone, the preferred starter, did not amuse.
