Ground Hopper

Tonight I went to Crowborough V Littlehampton in the Sussex Principle RUR charity cup. I wondered what the RUR stands for, any takers? Well its the Royal Ulster Rifles. Work that one out... answers on a postcard please. Crowborough sneaked a winner in added on time 2-1.

Littlehampton are top of the Sussex league at the moment. Speaking to an official of the club at halftime he said there is no way that their ground would get the required grading for Ryman league. After East Preston (who won the Sussex league last season) failed their ground grading, I ask the question, Should the leagues ensure that teams have the required grading in case of promotion?.

Where is the motivation for officials, players and supporters if you know that you can't progress. A bit sad really. Paulo
