Academy match

We have an Academy match down at the club tomorrow afternoon but please be aware this will kick off at 1.30pm not 2pm as advertised. This is a league-wide thing as most Academy sides don't play on floodlit pitches.

The match is against Eastleigh.

Went down to watch the match, not sure what I was expecting but was disappointed. Whyteleafe were somewhat over run and were 5-1 down at half time. Cold, wet and not very impressed with the football, I laft. Hope they did better in the second half. On a positive note, they did look dangerous on the break, in particular no 7 and no 8 (I think they were called Nelson and Ben).

Bit harsh to laf at them.

No 7 did look useful.

They are struggling at the moment largely because of off-field issues. Earlier in the season they were really holding their own but things have fallen apart a little which is tough for Ken and Curtis and most of the boys. I'm sure they'll put it together again with a little application and some self discipline.

Academy team

I think they need a substitute goal-keeper, and there is no coordination between defence, midfield and attack. They need to try some joined-up play and communication instead of effectively having a team made up of 3 gangs, each gang trying to make their gang look good at the expense of the team as a whole.
