Burgess Hill Town tonight.

Tonight's match at the Green Elephants stadium (or Leylands Park) kicks off at 7:30pm.

Unfortunately I have gone down with the lurgy and won't be able to make it this evening. Swiss is covering the teamsheet for me. If anyone could do a short match report that would be much appreciated. Brian has gone off on holiday again, I was going to cover for him.

If anyone could tweet occasional updates too I would be eternally grateful for a while.

Sorry to hear about the lurgy Chris, is it the dreaded lurgy or just the normal one?

I may be able to drive both ways today if anyone wants a lift, I was going to be working in Lewes today but I think I will probably spend the day Working from home and drive down later.

Waterlogged pitch.

It would have to be dreaded to keep me away from the Leafe.

Oh good grief no!

I have rearranged my life to fit this Wednesday game in.

I see Redhill v South Park was called off for similar reasons. Have we really had that much rain?

Still, Master Chef is on at 8.00 PM and The Apprentice interviews episode at 9.00 PM. Every cloud....

Yes we have had that much rain. 11 mm last night( just shy of half an inch in old money). Although the rainfall has been average for the autumn, this was slightly exaggerated by a dryish October. So effectively we have had 3 months rainfall in only 2 months!!
Put that with clay based soil that this part of surrey (esp Redhill) and Sussex is famed for, the the result is rather heavy soil already at saturation point. No amount of spiking or putting sand down is not going make any effect.
Also, we don't seem to get normal rain anymore. Its always very heavy and very quick now, rather than a nice slow drizzle.
Its all very hellish at the golf club now, but at least we are open. Leatherhead Golf club was closed this week!!!
If only golf and cricket could be played on 3g!!!

Yes, it seems to be the pattern at present, dry days and wet nights. It's deceptive.

Perhaps the Burglars' balloon will have popped by the time we play them......

That's the kind of optimism I like PBFC. Let's play BH once the longest lucky streak in history has come to an end.

And even if they are that much better than the rest, can they last the whole season as invincihills?

Just had a call from Mrs K to say the trains are up the creek but she would be on her way from East Croydon shortly (I had promised a lift home).

Journey saved!

This nighttime rain is fooling many it seems.
