Whyteleafe 2 Sittingbourne 3

Unbelievable. Threw away a 2 goal lead for the second time in three days and, like at Chipstead, should have been 5 goals to the good before the rot set in.

That charmless nerk keeper celebrating their winner was the low point of the season for me. Apologies for the language :)

Crowd of 303 and no doubt a spectacle for the many neutrals but today was one hell of a body blow for The Leafe.

Mr Brightside

We remain in the final play-off spot and have played the same number of games as Worthing who are 2 points behind us.

For the first hour today we bossed the game, scored twice, struck the bar, forced many saves from Moany Moany.

We clearly have some defensive frailty to address but really we are still in the hunt and capable of grabbing that 5th spot in the table.

Not much bothered by Tuesday's Cup tie but maybe a chance to try something or someone new?

Keep the faith.

Mark

Totally devastated by that result. Worst feeling even than when we conceded 2 goals in injury time to 10 men Worthing.

Ditto Clive. Can't get my head around how we lost that. We completely battered them for 70 minutes and then capitulated in a mad 10 minute spell. We have a very talented group of players but I sometimes think we lack a bit of physical presence/muscle and are susceptible to getting bullied into submission at times. With JT rumoured to be out for a while injured and Louis still missing through work commitments we really need to strengthen the defence, and soon.

We had lumps kicked out of us today and got no protection from Mr Lenient in black.

Roscoe had a strong penalty claim waived away and Jensen had a perfect opportunity to go down in the box and scream like the average Rymans cheat, but chose to play the game the right way.

Agreed the defence needs strengthening, not least with some pace in the wide positions but our overall play was brilliant again.

We can storm ahead from here, starting next Saturday.

Hard to take twice in 3 days when we played some fantastic football for the first part of the game and could easily have put the game well out of reach.

Brilliant first hour, lovely passing and attacking football.

Bentley has been a big miss whilst suspended and we need to sign a C/B to restore Sol P-B to R/B.

Reasons enough to stay positive.

I'll need a few beers before I can feel any cheer.

JT may have broken his foot.

We're we unlucky in missing so many chances again?
We're we unlucky to concede another 3 goals?
I don't know the answers. I hope someone else does.

Mark's point about Jensen is so on the mark (see what I did there?) "Jensen had a perfect opportunity to go down in the box and scream like the average Rymans cheat, but chose to play the game the right way."
Exactly, and exactly why I love watching and supporting the mighty Leafe....
I would rather have watched us lose the right way, than to watch a bunch of cheats throw themselves on the floor. Might as well go a watch a premiership match if that's what you want!!!! Better to lose 2:3 than to cheat a penalty and scrape a draw. Having said that, when their centre half picks Roscoe up and throws him to the floor greco-roman style, it would be nice for the man in black to penalise him and give us our just deserts.

I love Tim's overwhelming sense of fairness.

I always note how when other teams are beating us their physio ALWAYS comes on the pitch in the last ten minutes with a mysterious injury.

It is cheating and the ref always gets duped by it but it slows the game right down and tends to work..

Should we cheat more?

Please NO NO and thrice NO.

We win or we lose, but we do it right, otherwise we might as well all go and support Arsenal!!!!
(Insert name of any other Premiership club here)

I don't know who sets the ethos in this club, Chairman, manager, whoever it is I need to buy them a pint.

The ex turnstile operator.

I always maintained a policy of no cheating for anyone coming into the ground.

Mine's a large one. No lime thank you I've given in up.
