Burgess Hill gates soar

Statistics published by delighted officials at the West Sussex club on Monday revealed that the Hillians lured an average of 248 supporters to their first 14 home league encounters of the campaign compared to 245 at the same stage last term.

An increase of three! Small wonder their officials are getting excited...

Nothing like a typo in the vital statistic to screw up the entire story!

Their crowds are actually averaging 347 and I'd like to think ours would be doing the same if we were unbeaten league leaders and had enjoyed such good FA Cup and Trophy runs.

Interesting that at the end of the 2011/12 season it was between us and them to get relegated from this division. 3 seasons on and the 2 of us could be promoted (long shot for us, I'll admit). Shows how things can turn around pretty quickly at this level.

The locals are obviously impressed with the unbeaten run. I wonder if it is a typo as the article on the Ryman site states there is a 42% increase which would suggest 348 rather than 248
