East Grinstead 0 Whyteleafe 6

By Brian (legacy user)3/2/2015 22:49Tue Feb 3 22:49:08 2015

Leafe's liking to play East Grinstead continued having now found the net 16 times in 3 encounters. Dominated most of the game on a pitch that got harder as the game progressed. Hat trick from Jason Henry, a couple from Roscoe and an own goal.

"I thought it would be off and so made another business appointment".

Indeed, I took the responsible self-employed father of two option. What a muppet.

I never miss the bad games :-(

For the first time in a while, once we went 1 up I thought we would win. TBH we played them off the park. Farmie, can we have that ref/linos every week?

Was he? I thought it was meant to be him, but there was a late switch... probably when he saw the East Grinstead shirts.
Anyway, Brian's "He is O ..... Offside" after Roscoe's 2nd was the chant of the season so far, IMO

Yes it was Paul Johnson not Ashley Slaughter.

Really enjoyed last night. Only thing missing was some home fans singing!!
Never thought it would finish tho, the pitch sounded quite hard at times.
Both teams tried to play, great ref too, you could hear him talking to players throughout, although i think the penalty was a bit harsh. Yes it hit his arm/hand but the poor bloke was only about a yard away from a well hit shot. And Roscoes 2nd was offside. I was perfectly in line having gone to the side to have a fag. Fortunatly, the lines man had pushed up to far as was in no position to see it!!!

Really hope East Grinstead stay up, nice ground, nice tea bar and nice people as well.

Roll on Sat and Redhill.

Yes totally agree with all that.

Splendid evening. Players did well to entertain us on difficult surface. Officials used comon sense and I think the players seemed to respect that. I can't recall any bookings nor bad tackles.

I do enjoy a visit to East Grinstead. Lovely club and hospitality. Excellent hot dog and cup of strong tea.
Non league footbal as it should be.

Clive, the Cheeseburger was also very good and the people very friendly.

Before the match started you could hear the footfalls down the stand side of the pitch, by the end it sounded life the game was being played in a hall as you could hear ever step all across the pitch.

It did start to get slippy by the end with a number of players falling when they tried to turn quickly. Jason Henry also seemed to get injured, lets hope not seriously. Not sure if it was from a mistimed tackle due to the conditions or if he slipped and pulled something - maybe a combination of the two. The Car Park was also very icy after the match!

Lets hope the game is on at Redhill - really looking forward to it - it should be a bit warmer at the weekend too.
