Cray 2 Leafe 2

A very entertaining game rather spoilt by poor referee, we went 2 up with two good goals then unfortunately a poor keeper clearance gave Cray forward and easy knock in, then right at the death a penalty was very unfairly given from which the home side secured a point, we collected a number of yellows for what seemed very minor situations.

It rather seemed that the referee wanted a non contact game and was more interested in stoppoing the game to have a chat.

Still we did not loose and now to Lewes Saturday.

To be fair, I felt Cray forced us back with a late flourish.

From behind the goal at the far-end it looked a clear penalty but cleverly won. The Cray player was moving across the area, shielding the ball with our defender behind, then stopped dead and got knocked forwards.

The Ref did become over officious towards the end, but then they always do when some self-important assessor is visibly sat in the stand with their clipboard.

Two points lost but away from home against a strong team who will clearly be play-off contenders.
