Andrew Mensah

For those who couldn't attend the match with Colliers Wood last night (6 December), this match was abandoned on 75 minutes following a very bad injury sustained by Andrew Mensah. An ambulance was immediately called as soon as it became clear that the injury was severe. This arrived 45 minutes later (the match already having been abandoned by that time).

The ambulance eventually left Whyteleafe shortly before 11pm and Andrew was taken to a hospital near to where he lives.

I am sure all will join me and the Officers and Members of WFC in wishing Andrew a speedy recovery from what appeared to be a very serious injury.
If anyone has further info please post on this forum

Leigh has spoken with Andrew this morning he is undergoing surgery this pm. The hospital list is very busy, hence the delay.

It was a very serious injury, which could not be dealt on the pitch any further than we could. It needed specialist drugs to be administered by a senior paramedic, before he could be placed on a scoop stretcher. Hence the need to remain until the medical team arrived. He was in a lot of pain, but remained positive throughout.

Thanks Bob.

Give Andrew all our best wishes from the Leafe Army. He is a big favourite of ours so tell him to get back asap! He looks like a strong lad so hopefully that will help.

Keep us informed of his progress

Thanks for the info, and hope that he will eventually return to Football.
This Christmas will no doubt be a difficult one, i also hope that the injury will not cause him problems with work.
