Seems a bit harsh on Leatherhead, if they were not offered the place first.
I have been to all our games at Merthyr & look forward to going again this season. They are a great club & perhaps deserve a bit of luck.

I believe the criteria was next in line from the Southern league as sideways movent would have affected several clubs to balance the leagues.
Who knows what really goes on in the basement where all these committees meet after dark though?

Leatherhead may have taken the Southern place if offered and that would have meant no chopping and changing. Think they’re probably upset about it. Wouldn’t be surprised if they appealed

The caveat here is that after the league constitution is set if a team withdraws they will be replaced by another team from within that league.
If Walton had pulled out a month earlier than the leagues would possibly have made several changes.

As much as I feel for Leatherhead. The decision has been made. Some of the comments from their fans, and those associated with the club towards Merthyr have been horrific. They are a Isthmian League club, who got relegated. Tough luck. This is football. Get over it!
Sometimes it goes your way, sometimes it does not. Merthyr did not ask to be left in a dire situation at the start of this season. Every club has their own issues. Move on now...

I mentioned not long ago that I thought North Leigh could get put in our division. It was just a case of whether they would be considered too northern but obviously not.
I can't imagine Kings Langley being happy about being switched back. The vast majority of their away games will be in the Midlands. They've lost all those local games against the Middlesex clubs as well as Beaconsfield and Chesham.
