Yep. A chance to see if we can progress into the semi final of the Midweek Floodlit Cup and also boost the Back to Nuneaton coffers.

Daish !!! awful awful appointment.
an unmitigated disaster from day one

My round trip was shorter as I was on a week's holiday in Lyme Regis, not that that made the experience any less depressing.
I may be wrong(again) but I think the other clown (Reid)was still in charge for that game?

Our Californian visitor enjoyed that immensely. We both did. First time he's stood watching Boro' at The oval without having rude songs sung by the home fans.
That 236 btw all goes to the fighting fund I believe?

So, what can I expect?
I'm actually looking forward to my trip down to Nuneaton, and the game at Coton Green on 23/11.
For those who've watched regularly, and can fill me in ahead of my first Town game...
What system do we usually play?
Who are our standout players, and what positions do they play in?
How many are we likely to take to Coton Green based on similar away games so far?
Thanks all.

The football is pretty poor especially on muddy pitches.
The opposition are very pleased to see Boro fans and v welcoming.
Lots of genuine Nuneatonians still following us. I would hope for 150-200 for this game.
The players are what you would expect for this level. Harry Jackson is the closest to a proper footballer.
It’s certainly novel and the main thing is Nuneaton still has a Club!

What to expect? I would say lower your expectation as to the standard of football.
Sounds odd but even watching us win 5-1 last night it wasn’t a riveting game, in my opinion. Some are more easily pleased.
Our best players are Trevor Edwards at right back and Carlsey at left back (again in my opinion). Our two centre halves look a bit shakey and like to lump it forward. Our midfield are decent when the ball isn’t launched upfield. Most teams I’ve seen us play seem to have a big guy up top and they try and get it to them as quick as possible.
When it’s bad it’s terrible at this level, but when it’s good it’s half decent,
I’d imagine we’ll take around 150 to Coton Green.

I’d second that. When I ventured to Bridgnorth at the end of Sept, I was initially shocked at the quality of the football, but once I adjusted my expectations I enjoyed a competitive game with the odd funny incident. Edwards was impressive and Johnson was surprisingly nimble for a big unit. Spruce led the line well too. The other aspect I liked was that the ref talked to the players about his decision-making without verbal abuse or confrontations.

The football in the old Southern League Midland wasn’t always that great. Not in the League we were just kicked out of.

Been to a few games home and away and I think it's better at times than some of the shit we've seen the last few seasons.
Not keen on Bedworths plastic pitch but but it does make for fast flowing football.
All in all better than I was expecting

I watched some pretty dreadful football over the last few seasons at LW. This does not approach that.
I've seen most home games and one away. I'm not a "genuine Nuneatonian" of course, but had my Nuneaton born Grandad not been a stretcher bearer on the Western Front in WW1 perhaps a few of those attending now would not be around to keep moaning about that.
What is nice (with only a few exceptions) is to see old faces coming back drawn from those who had disappeared from LW due to the awful standards of entertainment and the wedge being driven between club and supporter.

Paying through the nose to watch football at any level doesn’t guarantee entertainment.
However it’s different if it’s your boyhood club , it takes on a new dimension of supporting your team.
Something we have almost all experienced with the rollercoaster that is supporting our much cherished boro/.town over the past decades
Now more than ever it means something far much more , it’s ours for the first time in my lifetime. Everything we do is done for the right reasons to take the club forward, every pound accounted for , the people running only serving the best interests of the club ,community and it supporters
The reset of the club will be a blessing in the long run I have no doubt and if that means step 6 football I’ll take every single time after the repeated mismanagement of our club

And something I shared with those responsible on Tuesday-The fact that fans now finally have a stake/share in the club definitely adds a bit of something extra to attending. I am by no means the only one expressing this thought. Ownership is a big deal.
Boro were not my boyhood club btw but having always loved to play, coach and watch football and having roots n Nuneaton I was obviously fully aware of them even early doors.
When I moved nearer to the town I began going to MP and I was then hooked.

I’ve only missed a handful home and away. Didn’t go last night due to the quality of the cup but went last Wednesday to Bilston and quite frankly their performance was terrific. Four regulars missing and an opposition up for it and very physical but the Boro lads rolled up their sleeves and took it to them toe to toe. I didn’t think that they had that in their bag.
Bilston,Boro,Coton Green and Smethwick will be the top four but in what order. I believe Darren Acton managed/coached Coton Green too.
Just do what the players are doing and enjoy it.

Danico up front can be a joy to watch. Fantastic hold up play, creative and fun to watch.
Id expect a cagey game against Coton due to the league positions. Not sure on the standard of the pitch at Coton either, we tend to play better on a flat / 3G surface.
Over the last few games ive really started to notice what Corey Currithers (midfielder, captain) brings to the team. Wins the ball back well and keeps thing ticking over.

Totally agree about Carruthers .
The likes of Carsley , Danico & Baker when he plays can produce moments above the standard we're at but i'll bet Carruthers is very close to being the first name on the team sheet . He makes the team tick .
The current boro sides pretty much guarantee maximum effort , commitment and goals and that's not something that could be said about some boro sides i've seen over the years at higher levels .
You just need to remember it's step 6 so there will be some limitations .
